What a better way to spend our Sunday evening than with an exquisite “Decadent, Delicious & Dynamic” four course set meal shared with great company in the heart of Exeter.

Pickle Shack is a young and ambitious, creative food company providing tailored catering solutions for every man and his well-fed dog. From intimate dinner parties and supper clubs, to pop-up restaurants, outdoor dining, weddings, corporate events and just about anything you can throw at them’.

Food intolerances left right and centre, no red meat, pascaterian & gluten free, another only white fish… the Pickle Shack didn’t seem phased in the slightest with our bizarre requirements, instead they had created incredible alternatives for each of us… we were totally in awe!

To create these unusual masterpiece dishes The Pickle Shack utilise the freshest local produce from fantastic suppliers of Devon, whilst also taking influences from unusual foraged ingredients in the East Devon countryside to complement the traditional – yet offering a laid-back, lip smackin’ four course set meal.

Poppyseed and treacle bread with pink peppercorn butter to start – a modern twist on tradition. We knew the four courses to follow were going to be exquisite….

The first course saw our plate decorated with a vibrant Betroot terrine with salad of heritage crunchy carrots, beetroot gel and toasted seeds.

“We are dedicated to using only the freshest and damn’ tastiest ingredients for your unadulterated culinary pleasures”.

Surprise bursts of flavour in every mouthful – Line caught, cured pollock from Lyme Bay with innovative pork pops, dressed with a celeriac stir fry, iced celery with wild quince puree arranged on beautiful slate boards.

Colourful plates – Tender roast sirloin, tail mash, three hour red onion, beef bone jus and rapeseed oil snow.

For the veggies – A gorgeous colourful dish, filled with divine three hour red onion, smooth mash, crispy onion, cauliflower puree and rapeseed oil snow.

The sublime chocolate finale – Medlar and dark chocolate cremeux, chestnut cake, medlar puree, thyme shortbread crumb and local walnuts.

Pickle Shack create completely bespoke, imaginative, and wonderfully creative menus for their regular pop up events along with exciting weddings, parties and events.
