The inspiration for this spring wedding styled shoot at fabulous Bridwell Park in Devon began with those very first signs of spring: those fresh vibrant greens and yellows set against a still grey sky.

The spring wedding venue
Elegant Bridwell Park near Collumpton – the much loved family home of Lord Ivar Mountbatten – is set in 100 acres of beautiful parkland, and recently opened its doors for the first time to guests on an exclusive use hire basis. Weddings within the house can be held in some stunning locations, including the grand front entrance overlooking the lawn and lake, morning room, library and conservatory. Bridwell also has an enchanting early 19th-century Gothic-style chapel with breathtaking views over the surrounding parkland, and The Orangery, with its four French doors opening on to the gardens. An elegant, historic and romantic location, this fabulous house was the perfect backdrop for our vibrant spring wedding styling.

The spring wedding palette
Bridwell Park’s entrancing yellow rooms and hallways were set against early spring blooms after the long winter nights. The palette infused these yellow greens with soft and vibrant pinks, and structure was injected with tall grasses and foliage.

The spring wedding bride and groom
Simple, modern gowns and an impactful floral headdress gave a vigorous look – yet remained a feeling of elegance. The dress was relaxed and in line, and supplied from Pirouette the Collection; we wanted the impact to be made with the headpiece. Florist Philip from Philip Taylor Corps’ array of grasses, blousy blooms and spring buds were used to produce the flower garland by Steven from Steven and Laurent hairdressers. The loose up-do was full of bounce and curls under the crown of flowers. Makeup by Genevieve Satha was fresh and vibrant, but with a softness to suit a blushing bride.
To complement this young look our groom sported a clean and modern linen suit and printed floral shirt supplied by Samual Daw & Co.

The spring wedding decor
Philip from Philip Taylor Corps went on to dress the table with a stunning collection of greens and bright arrangements, to co-ordinate with the table styling.
Embroidered linen echoed the abundant zesty yellows and bright flowers, and was used to make the table cover. Handmade seed packets acted as place names, and favours made by Amy at Blue Fizz Events added a personal touch. To give a wild botanical feel, foliage and flowers were added to the chairs in the Orangery room, where the large glass French windows linked the stunning gardens and grounds indoors.
The cakes (crafted by Cherry Blossom Cakes) cleverly combined classic and ‘colour pop’, and perfectly complemented the grape tones of the orangery walls.
Venetia Norrington captured the photographic images,  skillfully detailing the energy of the scheme against the romance and softness of the whole theme. The day was also captured on canvas as we worked by the very talented Charlotte Atkinson, who created a stunning interpretation of the day as a keepsake any couple would treasure.

This shoot certainly lifted our spirits!
