Project Description

Many couples now like to celebrate their wedding day without too much conformity and tradition. There are so many options for outdoor venues; ceremonies can be held far from the madding crowd, on the shore line, under canvas or within rustic barns, giving way to imaginative and carefree celebrations that are perfect for a festival themed wedding.

Create the look

Opt for cotton lace and flowers in your hair or team a vintage tulle gown with a short slips to give a modern twist that’s perfect with wellies – or simply barefoot.

Dress the venue

Canopies of fairy lights and colourful ribbon streamers set the tone, along with trestle tables laid with mismatched crockery and napkins. Choose simple arrangements of colourful hedgerow blooms displayed in a range of containers from jam jars to enamel jugs. An open bar with local ales and ice buckets fashioned from old enamel baths strewn with bright flowers allow guests to experience a beer tent with all the trimmings.

Entertaining

Use hay bales and festival flags to surround a stage where acoustic singers hand over to the band and entertainment for the night.

Food and drink

Cheese rounds, layered cakes, a hog roast and street food stands as well as quirky and fun lemonade stands all bring this look to life. Add traditional games for a festival vibe then move into the night with music, glamping and fireside songs accompanied by marshmallows and stargazing.
