We loved watching the sun-setting over our exclusive feasting and partying experiences last weekend. The Funky Soul Friday followed by The Barefoot Ball in Croyde made for a truly magical weekend … there were tears of pure joy, smiles, glitter, magical sunsets, inspired outfits, artistic dance moves, dolphins swimming in the bay, love and plenty of laughter… we kick started the summer solstice in style!
We can’t wait to do it all over again at our BRAND NEW Cornwall location for the Funky Soul Friday & Barefoot Ball Padstow … introducing Trerethern Farm . Join us on Friday 20 & Saturday 21 July 2018 for a party and feasting experience like no other then we’ll be heading back to Croyde next summer. Find out more…
A special thank you to Jake Ogden Film & Photography along with Abbie Barton Photography for the breathtaking images and event movies skillfully created by you both, capturing stunning memories to last a lifetime. A HUGE thank you every local business involved including each and every guest who partied with us and so kindly donated to such a worthy charity, we salute you!
FUNDRAISING & SUPPORTING LOCAL
Across the weekend at the Barefoot Ball & Funky Soul Friday we held a luxury raffle each night, where lucky guests could win a host of extraordinary prizes, kindly donated from many local businesses ( see below) all in aid of raising funds for the hard-working local charity NDADA – North Devon Against Domestic Abuse, which is now the last refuge in Devon – supported by fundraising and donations.
NDADA currently have two fabulous RE: STORE shop locations, one in Bideford and one in Barnstaple. They are also opening a third at the beginning of July in Barnstaple, just next door to the old post office aptly named RE: LOVE and we can’t wait to visit!
They were born in 1975 out of the wave of change heralded by Erin Pizzey which was taking place across the country with regard to the Refuge movement. With the support of a few dedicated people including Hilary Draper, Cllr. Faye Webber and the District Council, the first refuge opened in a small terraced house with very few facilities.
- NDADA provide temporary refuge to women and children who have suffered domestic abuse and offer support and after-care to any woman who has left Refuge
- Encourage service users to determine their own futures and help them achieve this, whether this involves returning home or starting a new life elsewhere
- Recognise and care for the emotional and educational needs of children involved
- Offer support, advice and help to any service user who requests it
- Educate and inform the public, media, Police, courts, Social Services and other partners and organisations with respect to domestic abuse
- Support the family in a more holistic approach to help keep families safe and relationships healthy.
