A stylists guide to creating Indian Summer Vibes for your Wedding …
Our venue for this shoot was the inspiring Domes created by BAYA! ( formally the Plank Co) The stunning spaces are hand crafted and provide an exciting alternative to a traditional wedding venue. BAYA also provide, trestles and benches to hire out for weddings and events as well as bars and arches, many of which are featured in these images….
Visit BAYA in the Glamping Village along with over 50 exquisite exhibitors at THE BOHO & RETRO WEDDING FESTIVAL at Bridwell Park on SATURDAY 29 & SUNDAY 30 April 2017 11am – 4pm- Free entry but pre-registration is available on EventBrite
Initially I was inspired by the domes shapes and was looking for a modern look within the shoot. I was wanting to use a punchy Mint and Ginger colour scheme based on current trends and a twist on an Indian summer vibe.
I used henna patterns as one of my details and requested Nicky at Knots and Kisses to use these alongside the colours selected. Nicky produced some stunning stationary very unique !
Our cake was provided by Claire Makes Cakes who continued the Henna theme and gentle palette to create 3 separate tiers that bought the whole concept together.
Our groom is cutting a dash in a stunning tangerine and neutral outfit supplied by Samuel Daw and co the jacket makes a strong statement and very on trend to cut a modern edited look that’s still very laid back.
Our bride wears vintage supplied by Days of Grace. Two separate dresses were layered to give a delicate silhouette and individuality !
I wanted to continue the clean lines throughout and asked for a sleek tailored pony tail expertly created by Tangles Hair Salon unfussy but dramatic. The makeup was a warm palette with a delicate touch of the ginger hues to emphasize the eyes and create overall a strong and refined look by Maddie Pearce MUA. Our stylists assistant Elspeth on the day completed the look with the addition of silver henna tattoos on the hands and wrist to bring the overall theme together perfectly.
Whilst researching I fell in love with the Indian flower garlands and wanted these to be created to match in with the ginger colours with complimentary flower arrangements for the wooden tables and bouquet. I opted for a flower garland in a traditional style rather than a bouquet again keeping in line with the unfussy vibe. Emma from Emma Hewlett provided a breathtaking amount of flowers that exceeded by expectations just amazing !
I kept the table styling simple using up-cycled jars with enamel paint to hold the flowers, silver ferns and simple lanterns all within my overall concept. I love repurposing and making unusual items for our clients and hire range that are unique to us at Blue Fizz Events. The shoot overall delivered exactly the look I wanted to achieve to inspire brides to achieve something fresh modern vibrant and new and the domes set in the coastal setting and sand dunes set the scene for the whole range of ideas.
Through the eye of our amazing photographer on the day Jo , these images have energy, drama and the colours come alive! As well as the feel of light and the elements of breezy beach location all come across! We are sure this look is going to be a big story in the coming years with couples looking for something with a modern direction that will stand the test of time.
