Using colour can be exciting yet many brides and grooms are daunted by the idea. This colour fade look is something that works with pastels that is playful yet subtle.

Our Blue Fizz Events traditional canvas marquee was decorated with hundreds of balloons from Bumble Bee Balloons. They created our stunning centre piece suspended from the ceiling. Varied shades and sized balloons following our colour fade ideas created a stunning impact and is a great way to decorate any venue. On location at one of our favourite destinations, Croyde Bay – this was THE perfect backdrop for the styled shoot.

To follow the theme, on our rustic wooden tables from Total Event Hire we continued the theme with my hand dyed runners and napkins in watermark pastels. I also hand painted the organic plates to give the subtle yet individual element to our look.

The ever talented Emma at Brompton Buds provided volumes of blooms in a beautiful array of pastels and pinks that we arranged all along the table using vintage miss matched bottles that gave the arrangement varied height and depth. Emma also created a large bouquet echoing the pastel fade theme with varied blooms and subtle textures. The dramatic headdress was crafted by Emma again with a soft and subtle blend of pastels. Emma also introduced the flowers in our beach ceremony shots by placing flowers in the sand to create an enchanting aisle.

The structure of our ceremony area was created by Hannah at Fuss Pots who provide all manner of plants trees and foliage for your special day. Not only does it provide the wow factor the plants are also sustainable and popular as an environmentally friendly option when choosing how to style your venue.

Our cakes were simply delicate with blushes of pastels and the addition of flecks of gold. The cakes were created by Crafted by Ginger. Using a frosted finish and a variety of cakes is always a popular option as you can choose different cakes to satisfy different tastes but display them together crowded by flowers.

Our stationery was produced by Amy at Alphabet Meadow. Amy made hand finished watercolour inspired place cards, invites and additional stationary to complement our theme. I used an old frame with chicken wire and painted it all white as our backdrop for our table plan. I tied each individual name onto the wire so that they all fluttered in the breeze.

Our groom Tobias wore a pastel blue suit from Samuel Daw & Co. We teamed it up with a crisp white shirt and pastel tie. The suit was a slim fit which is definitely the choice of most grooms currently which gives you a classic look with a current fashion focus.

I used a bespoke buttonhole hand made by Feather and Gage in Tavistock market who use recycled cartridges with exquisite feathers to make pins to adorn hats or jackets. The craftsmanship won me over and they were kind enough to allow me to use this piece in our shoot.

Our bride Hannah wore Emma’s flower crown with her hair expertly styled by Vera K Wedding Hair. Hannah’s hair was beautifully, classic yet playful and able to cope with the elements on the beach.
Hannah’s make up again with soft blurred pastels was created by Isabelle Grace who gave us a fresh look with impact on the eyes and a little shimmer.

Hannah’s dress was made by myself Bridget@ Blue Fizz Events, I wanted something delicate so opted for sheer panels of polka dot chiffon and a simple strappy barely there top, I teamed this with layers of ruffled tulle for a large but soft and light skirt. I placed hidden layers of soft pink in the underskirts to introduce the soft pastel fade element to the dress as it moved.

Our couple enjoyed bespoke cocktails at the amazing Buffalo Bar who are not only able to give a high end and exciting bar experience for your guests but also a dramatic look to your venue in their Air stream!

Our photographer on the day is the ever talented Verity Westcott who captures the details and vibe on your day with her professional and creative yet approachable style.

When deciding on a look or theme for your special day it’s about finding what reflects you as a couple and bringing in the colours and details that are right for who you are as a couple? This is a look that can be more formal depending on your venue but a great way to bring colour into every aspect of the ceremony without it being overpowering.

Special thanks to our incredible models Hannah and Tobias, who are themselves tying the knot this year. We wish them both a lifetime of happiness together xx
