Where the Coast meets the Country… lose yourself in the Wild Romance of Exmoor

Wild flowers and weathered wood, stone walls and sea views … National Trust, in partnership with Blue Fizz Events, is thrilled to announce that this year it will be opening the doors for Weddings at its rustic barn at Kipscombe Farm – creating an exclusive new Devon wedding venue.

ECO + FESTIVAL VIBES

Perfect for those seeking an alternative, DIY venue, this historic farm has stunning Devon views over Lynmouth, across the Bristol Channel and out over Exmoor. It’s part of a wider 4500 acre estate which is protected due to its rich wildlife – and it can be exclusively yours for a rustic-chic wedding celebration, with Blue Fizz Events on-hand to help get everything in place.

Your wedding in the Tithe Barn at Kipscombe Farm will be supporting and looking after this special place too: the National Trust will be using all the proceeds from this exciting new venture to fund its ongoing work of protecting and enhancing this beautiful estate and its wildlife.

Your rustic barn wedding at Kipscombe

Set on North Devon’s Countisbury Hill, Kipscombe Farm has breathtaking sea and country views, and is a short drive to the historic villages of Lynton and Lynmouth and their hotels, tea houses, pubs and hostelries.

With original stone walls, high beamed ceiling and wooden floors, the Tithe Barn offers a stunning Devon wedding location, with great potential for a rustic, eco- or festival style celebration. Just imagine the photographs: unstructured, unique, romantic and rustic, couples can choose from a backdrop of rugged coast or lush green countryside, and create everlasting memories that’ll never date.

To complete the festive, eco-friendly vibe, Kipscombe Farm offers options for camping and glamping, and with the involvement of Blue Fizz you can be sure that every part of your day will be as sustainable, natural and locally-sourced as possible.

INFORMATION FROM THE NATIONAL TRUST

“In North Devon the National Trust looks after over 8000 acres of land and over 100 miles of footpath,” says National Trust’s Peter Cousin.

“As part of our national ‘Land, Outdoors and Nature’ strategy we are working hard to improve our nature standards at all our sites, improving and extending habitats for a diversity of wildlife. As Europe’s largest conservation charity we are reliant on our members and other donors to continue looking after special places for ever, for everyone.”

“At Kipscombe we’re working to achieve nature friendly farming in this magnificent site looking out over the Bristol Channel. Through carefully managed grazing and other interventions we are hoping to increase the biodiversity in the area. We hope to see increased diversity of plants, which will intern support an array of insects, reptiles, mammals and birds. Look out for the English Longhorn Cattle, Exmoor ponies and sheep who are helping us to achieve this.

“Kipscombe Farm is an 882 acre hill farm; part of a wider 4500 acre estate which is cared for by the West Exmoor National Trust. The farm itself is situated in Countisbury and benefits from stunning views over Lynmouth, across the Bristol Channel, and out over Exmoor moor.

“The land which belongs to the farm is a diverse mixture of enclosed fields, heathland, and woodland; parts of which are specially protected by Natural England for their incredible wildlife value.  Some of Britain’s most endangered birds, such as Skylarks and Cuckoos can be found here, as can a plethora of rare fungi, and wildflowers.

“From the farm, the National Trust look after a small flock of sheep and a heard of Exmoor ponies. These animals are kept to promote the survival of rare breeds, and to support the Ranger Team’s conservation work. Grazing animals are a fantastic way of keeping soil healthy, creating a varied pasture, supporting invertebrates, managing scrub, and encouraging ecological diversity through their trampling.”
