Scandinavian Winter is an eternal theme popular with both brides and grooms. Here we find ourselves in the grandeur of World Inspired Tents’ tipis. These dramatic structures come alive in the depths of winter with roaring fires, fur pelts and feasting tables – a delicious visual spectacle to wow your guests!
Bridget, our resident stylist, shares her vision for this Scandinavian Winter Wedding styled shoot:
‘I teamed natural elements alongside some minimal clean textures to add a modern twist to this traditional theme. The vast amounts of foliage and flower displays were provided by the ever lovely Emma at Brompton Buds. Emma created a beautiful entrance teeming with lush dark green foliage and delicate blooms, it is always a good idea to make an impact on entrance as it is something your guests with remember and will set the scene for the rest of the event. The bride’s bouquet echoed the same elements with delicate touches and the table was simply adorned with forest greens for a simple touch.
The table ware and accessories were provided by Keeping it Vintage who have many delightful pieces that can add that certain something to your special day. Keeping it Vintage also supplied us with a quote board along with wooden candle sticks, again mixing modern simplicity with traditional materials.
Our cakes were placed on a traditional old sledge and black painted boards to create a simple backdrop to show off the details on our stunning cakes. Edible Essence Cake Art made a selection of snow inspired cakes that were both classic and dramatic.
Our stationery provided more of the minimal elements that I was looking for. Opaque backgrounds with a barely there feel along with a soft grey text presented with minimal fuss juxtaposed our dark green foliage and looked stunning – from Amy at Alphabet Meadow.
For additional styling elements I added reindeer pelts, blackened wooden bars and candles along the table.
Our stunning model grace wore a dramatic gown by Christine Trewinnard, I loved the full skirt and the delicate details of the top. Our bride’s hair was created by the Up Do Girl to bring this modern tussled bob to life. Isabella Grace makeup brought a frosted yet dewy look with a full red lip to coordinate with the accents in our floral displays. The combined vibe was fresh, young and timeless.
Our dashing groom wore a red velvet jacket with grey accessories all provided by the fantastic collection of men’s wear for all occasions of Sam Daw and Co.
These images were expertly captured by the very talented Verity Westcott whose eye for detail and creativity has captured the warmth and mood of this deep winter shoot.
We hope you are feeling inspired!’
